5 WAYS TO ALWAYS STAY MOTIVATED

Positive mindset, positive result

Motivation can give you that extra push to get something done, but it doesn’t always come when you need it. Make it a habit to stay motivated regularly, no matter the struggle. You see, we are often so consumed by motivating our teams, employees, business partners, and customers, that we sometimes forget something extremely important, our own motivation.

If we’re not motivated, we’re more likely to squander our time and neglect our personal and professional goals. Even the most determined people can lose steam sometimes.

BE OPTIMISTIC

Most of us say the most awful things to ourselves and somehow we end up believing those things. Keep your thoughts positive because positive thoughts lead to positive actions. Only you can control your thought. So the moment a bad thought enters your head, let it go.

Change your thinking and you’ll notice amazing changes in your life.

If your thoughts are always negative, harsh, and judgmental. It’s going to produce a lot of difficult emotions like guilt, anxiety, frustration, and sadness, all of which sap you of your natural motivation to reach your goals.

According to Roy T. Bennett, “Don’t be pushed around by the fears in your mind. Be led by the dreams in your heart.”

SURROUND YOURSELF WITH LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE

If you surround yourself with negative people, you’ll find it difficult to keep yourself motivated. The company we keep directly influences our work and personal life.

Poor social support can lead to depression, loneliness, alcohol dependency, and suicidal thoughts. Get yourself an accountability buddy, they are your biggest cheerleader.

Recruiting a friend or partner to aid you in your goal can be a powerful source of motivation and encouragement. Just make sure you set things up right from the beginning.

BUILD A BUSINESS AROUND YOUR PASSION

Whatever you choose to venture into, make sure you love it. When you do something you truly love it’s not hard to find the motivation needed to succeed.

It’s so challenging to remain motivated in a job that just doesn’t make you happy. It’s unfair to yourself, your employer, your colleague, and even the person you’re depriving of getting the job.

But, passions can change and it’s important that you pivot with them. Follow your passion and you will never experience a lack of motivation.

DEFINE YOUR GOAL AND VISUALISE YOUR RESULT

One way to stay motivated is ensuring you have a very clear goal in mind. Writing down your action plan is very important, to help you stay focused. When everything is everywhere and you’re unfocused, you’re not going to move forward. Rather you’ll be frustrated and stagnate.

Your vision needs to be crystal clear and your heart has to be in the goal as well. If your heart is not in it, it will be difficult to stay focused.

Just like thinking, if you picture yourself being successful and happy, the chances are that you will actually be happy and successful. But if you picture yourself failing, it will happen. Visualization helps your brain recognize resources that could assist you on your journey. It brings forward people that could put you on the right path. And opens your mind and heart up to new connections.

BREAK YOUR GOALS INTO DOING TASK AND REWARD YOURSELF WHEN IT’S ACHIEVED

One of the main reasons that people lose focus and motivation is they set these massive goals for themselves. And then they flake out because the task looks enormous. But by breaking down the big tasks and breaking them into smaller manageable ones, you will remain focused and not lose your motivation.

Once you’ve completed your task, reward yourself for the hard work. It doesn’t have to be lavish, either, as sometimes simple rewards can go a long way to push us harder.

Learn what it takes to get yourself to complete dreaded tasks and set up a system of rewards for completion.

An incentive really goes a long way in keeping you motivated.
